Ministry of Communications and Iraqi Space Program
In 2013, a joint recommendation has been issued to establish the Iraqi Space Agency.
During both the 1985 and the 1988 ITU conferences, Iraq was awarded two orbital sites for the development of Iraqi satellites on 50E and 65.45E
During the work of the committee in 2013,a non-binding invitation was declared to the international companies (manufacturing, operating and investment) to design and build an Iraqi satellite.
Currently, Iraq has four ground stations for satellite communications that belong to the General Company for Communications and Information under the formations of the Iraqi Ministry of Communications.
