• In 2013, a joint recommendation has been issued to establish the Iraqi Space Agency.
• During both the 1985 and the 1988 ITU conferences, Iraq was awarded two orbital sites for the development of Iraqi satellites on 50E and 65.45E
• During the work of the committee in 2013,a non-binding invitation was declared to the international companies (manufacturing, operating and investment) to design and build an Iraqi satellite.
• Currently, Iraq has four ground stations for satellite communications that belong to the General Company for Communications and Information under the formations of the Iraqi Ministry of Communications.
